"Our biggest asset is our people, so we must make sure that the same Perini culture that has repeatedly brought our clients back to us is passed on to our new employees."
Dick Rizzo, Vice-Chairman
Employee surveys show that professional development and personal growth are two important factors in job satisfaction. At Perini Building Company, training is an investment in your future and enables us to build on our reputation and remain at the forefront of innovation in the construction industry.
The complexity and sophistication of the projects we build, particularly in the hospitality, gaming, retail and sports markets, requires us to be on the cutting edge of construction technologies. Elaborate designs frequently throw us curves that need to be resolved through equally creative problem solving based on sound construction principles and technical skill. The rapid evolution of information technologies requires constant attention to systems that can improve our efficiencies and performance. Training is essential to our continued success.
Because Perini Building Company is different than any company you have ever worked for, we offer "Perini Boot Camp" for new employees. Boot Camp begins a career-long process of learning of what it means to be a member of the Perini Building Company team and our definitions of quality, safety, and owner satisfaction.

Boot Camp is a two-day, 360-degree "insider's" view of our Company - its history, business philosophy, values, legal and regulatory obligations, systems and expectations. It's a lively, hands-on forum attended and presented by company executives and department managers.
Perini Building Company wants all of its engineers to have the base knowledge necessary to succeed in their chosen profession. Eligible individuals are exposed to five critical function areas through on-the-job training by a planned rotation of assignments - estimating, field engineering, office engineering, business development and legal.
Perini Building Company is always looking for qualified and committed safety professionals to fill positions at many of its project locations.
A pathway has been developed for craft persons and individuals with construction site experience who would like to pursue a career as a project safety engineer.

Perini's Safety Apprenticeship program pairs individuals with seasoned and experienced safety veterans. In addition, safety apprentices are supported in obtaining their OSHA 10-hour (within 30 days), 30-hour and 500 certifications (within one year) as well as CPR and First Aid training. Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs (in place on many of our projects) require our safety personnel to be OCIP-qualified, requiring three years experience in construction safety. |
Throughout the year, employees are encouraged to attend seminars and workshops to keep pace with changes in the industry. We also offer in-house workshops covering cost accounting and billing, new laws and regulations, communication skills, software applications, and more.
We offer internal training through web-based or classroom teaching. These courses may be completed both at a Perini facility or over the internet and are provided at little or no cost to our employees.
In addition, the Company encourages and assists salaried employees to prepare for future opportunities within the organization by supporting their pursuit of formal education.
