Since our founding in 1894 by Bonfiglio Perini, an Italian stonemason, we have grown from a small, family-owned civil works contractor into one of the nation’s largest, most versatile construction companies. |
In the early days, agreements were sealed with a handshake. Today, the expression, “his word was his bond” remains a fundamental expectation of all Perini employees. We believe that when relationships are built on trust, client satisfaction is assured and our reputation is strengthened.
The origins of Perini Building Company can also be traced to Southern California at the turn of the 20th century, when Mardian Construction Company was established in 1914. A family-owned company, Mardian enjoyed great success and settled in the Phoenix area.
Perini Corporation, as it was known then, established a building division in 1946 that quickly made an impact constructing privately financed commercial and high-rise projects in Boston, San Francisco and Canada.

In order to pursue building opportunities in high growth areas of the U.S., Perini Corporation acquired Mardian in 1974. Mardian was firmly established in the Southwest as one of the region’s top contractors, and brought substantial resources and expertise to Perini’s building operations. In 1992, Perini Building Company, Inc. was officially formed, consolidating all of the Perini-owned building companies into one entity to concentrate on delivering superior services to emerging niche markets.
Perini Building Company has become one of the nation’s premier construction managers, general contractors and design-builders. Clients, architects, designers, subcontractors and suppliers have embraced our philosophy, “Building Relationships on Trust”. We are consistently listed among the top twenty builders in the United States by Engineering News-Record, and today, are recognized as the nation’s largest builder of hospitality and gaming projects, especially in Nevada (click here for "Perini Building Nevada," a promotional map of projects since the early 1980's). Our Las Vegas headquarters is located in Henderson, NV. We are publicly held as a wholly owned subsidiary of Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE:TPC), but have retained the family-oriented feel of our predecessor companies.
