McCarran International AirportLas Vegas, Nevada
In 2005, McCarran was one of the world's busiest airports, ranking ninth for passenger traffic, with 44,280,190 passengers passing through the terminal, and fifth for aircraft movements, with 605,046 takeoffs and landings. Perini Building Company has been responsible for the construction of many of the major building components at McCarran. Central Terminal Baggage Handling & Parking GarageAn expansion plan known as McCarran 2000 Master Plan included the construction of a new central terminal with state-of- the-art automated baggage handling systems and nine-level parking facility with service buildings including pay stations. Automated Transit SystemPeople mover system structures and guideways used for transport from Concourse C to Baggage Claim and Central parking facility. Terminal (Concourse) DConnected to Central Terminal by underground ATS people mover, the 590,000-square-foot Terminal or Concourse D added 28 gates, boosting McCarran's capacity to 45 million passengers in 1998. The 3-story facility included a 100-foot-high "Great Hall," featuring 66,000 square feet of glass and 130,000 square feet of imported marble tile. |
Logan International AirportBoston, Massachusetts
Perini's construction work at Logan included runways, piers, utilities, paving, terminals and control tower. Elevated Walkways to Terminals A and E67,000 square feet of new and renovation including 1300 linear feet of elevated, enclosed walkway, with people movers, escalators and elevators, connecting terminals A and E to the new west parking garage. The walkways will be structural steel frame, curtain wall and glazing, and prestressed pile foundation. Utility relocation with new services and utility tunnel will be provided. International Terminal (Original Structure)Original base structure for international terminal building, four stories high and 794 feet long with a capacity to handle eight jumbo jets or 13 conventional aircraft simultaneously. A common waiting room serves all airlines using the building. Control TowerTwo 21-story elliptical concrete shafts, each 250 feet high joined from the 16th to the 21st floor by plate girders and trusses that house offices, a restaurant and the glass enclosed control cab that tops the structure. |

La Guardia AirportNew York, New York
The main terminal expansion consisted of an expansion of the baggage claim area, a realignment of the arrival level roadway, and the addition of a second elevated departures level roadway. As part of this $51 million project, the departure level roadway added an additional three lanes of traffic as well as a main sidewalk. |

Perini assembled a DBOM (design, build, operate, manage) team to assist the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) and Amtrak in the development of the 27,000-square-foot Route 128 Intermodal Transportation Facility. Phase II included a four-level, 2,700-car parking garage. |

The New York City Transit Authority's 4-story, 360,000-square-foot facility located in Manhattan is being built as a fast-track, design/build project with STV Incorporated serving as the engineering and design subcontractor to Perini. |

Greyhound Bus TerminalDetroit, MI
Designed by William Kessler & Associates, this 32,000-square-foot, award-winning facility replaced an obsolete bus station as part of a downtown development program in 1993. All bus and commuter-related facilities are located on the ground floor with the offices of the Michigan DOT's Center for Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems on the second floor. |
